Love the detail of Fink taking notes about the people he meets, to compensate for his face blindness. (I also like the way you visualized Fink's issue!)

By the way - I have the same issue as Fink, just not to the same degree. I mostly associate people to context; so it happened to me, to meet a coworker at the grocery store and not to recognize him/her. Plenty of opportunities for embarassing situations!

Oh wow. Thanks for sharing your experience! We've read a whole lot of how some people deal with it, Fink can relate to that situation for sure.

(Sorry to comment years later)

Same here. If I see someone outside of the context I expect them to be in, I panic. I was once put on the spot by "don't you remember who I am?" in public. And of course I failed. Ugh.

I was about to say... A few times in my life I didn't recognize people I should have known. I could see the faces but I seemed to have forgotten the names that belong to the faces... It was more a memory issue than a seeing issue. (No big deal, just avoid the names...) I just hope I never have to descibe a face...
On the other hand, I tend to see faces where the are none. Most cars have faces. Some houses have faces. Even mountains can have faces...
